Entity
Entity
9"x12" pen and ink - August, 1986

"Finally, inevitably, this force - this entity -   would make a breakthrough."

Beneath the facade presented in the previous sketch lies Bundy's "entity", which he used to metaphorically describe his dark side, filled with rage.

Instead of the center-parted hair seen in the first image, this figure wears a two-horned helmet, continuing the theme of division.

The wielded axe is reminiscent of the oak club Bundy used in Tallahassee and may allude to the dismemberment of his victims.  The image is certainly suggestive of the word "cut".

A reader, known as "Inspector Clouseau" on Serial Killer Central, caught on to the "odd angle of the axe blade" then concluded that the angle is correct because "the Entity would be left handed and pictured here after he had just swung the axe."

Thus, if one is seeing this image, it's already too late.  Avoiding the gruesome details, the "entity" is being portrayed from the victim's perspective - unexpected for Bundy, who lacked empathy.
